Commissions and Placements

Some of the operators GamblingDom writes about pay it. This page is the plain account: who pays, what for, and how far that money can and cannot reach into what you read.

How the payments are worked out

Operators, and the affiliate programmes acting for them, settle with us on one of three bases: a fixed sum when someone we sent funds a new account (the trade calls this CPA), a percentage of what that customer loses to the house month after month, or a blend of both. A handful of arrangements are flat fees for a position or a promotion over an agreed period. Rates differ from brand to brand and move during the year; we do not publish individual figures.

Where money can shape what you see

It can, and pretending otherwise would be the wrong kind of disclosure. Money decides which operators we have agreements with, so it affects which brands make it into our tables in the first place. A flat-fee deal can secure a position in a list for as long as it runs, and commission levels may tip the order when two operators are otherwise close. Not every listed brand pays us — some pay nothing — but no ordering on GamblingDom should be read as purely editorial.

What payment does not get an operator

An operator cannot purchase the wording of a review, the deletion of a criticism, a bonus or payout figure larger than the one it publishes itself, or our silence about a complaint we can document. Operators do not see or approve copy before it goes live.

Offshore partners

Most paying partners are licensed outside the United States rather than by a state regulator. A commission is no sign that we think an operator is safer than one that pays us nothing; the section on offshore licences in the limits of a guide applies to every one of them.

Occasionally a casino hands us a promo code reserved for GamblingDom readers, or pays for its brand to lead a list through a promotion window. Where that happens, the code is labelled as ours and the featured slot is part of the commercial arrangement, not a verdict reached by the desk. A code being exclusive tells you only that it was issued for our readers; it says nothing about whether the offer is generous once the wagering and the withdrawal limits are counted.

Brands that pay nothing

Some operators appear in reviews and news because readers ask about them, not because any agreement exists. Their links go straight to the operator or to nowhere at all, and we earn nothing if you sign up. They are judged against the same written criteria as everyone else, although they rarely end up in the paid positions of a table. If you would rather reach an operator without passing through our redirect, type its address into your browser yourself; the offer on the operator’s own page is what applies in either case.

What it costs you

Nothing directly. You pay us no fee, and clicking through us gets you the same public welcome deal anybody else would see, unless a page says a code is exclusive. Operators pay commissions out of their own margin, and that margin comes from what players lose — the economic fact underneath every affiliate site, this one included.

Cookies on a referral

Referral tracking rests on our own cookies, not on third-party trackers. Opening any GamblingDom page stores mz_vid (an arbitrary ID, twelve months) and mz_src (the traffic source, thirty days). Pressing an offer button that leads through /go/ stores mozbiz_session and XSRF-TOKEN too; both expire within a day, guard the hop against forgery and let the operator attribute the referral. The privacy policy covers them in full.

The rules we write to

Under the FTC’s endorsement guides (16 CFR Part 255), a material connection such as a commission has to be stated clearly and close to the recommendation it touches. This page, the note under each operator table and the line in the box at the foot of every article are how GamblingDom sets out to meet them.

Send the page address to [email protected], and say which link it was. If it should have been marked, we mark it or take it out; either way, Brightcay Online N.V., Dr. M.J. Hugenholtzweg 25, Willemstad, Curaçao, is the publisher responsible.
