Responsible Gambling
US players, read this first. Online casino and sportsbook law is decided state by state, and the operators listed here are licensed offshore rather than by a US state regulator. Check what is legal where you live before you deposit. You must be 21 or older. Responsible gambling · 1-800-GAMBLER
GamblingDom.com encourages all visitors to practice responsible gambling. If you need help or would simply like to learn more about responsible gambling, we suggest the following resources.
National Council on Problem Gambling
In addition to these resources, there are a number of additional steps that can be taken to help encourage responsible gambling.
If you play at brick and mortar casinos, many offer “self-exclusion” forms. By filling out one of these forms, you will be telling the casino that you no longer wish to be allowed to play. This is a preventative measure that many players can and do find helpful.
Some states also offer the opportunity to self-exclude, though these rules and options vary by location. We recommend calling your local or most frequented casino to determine which self-exclusion options exist. When you are self-excluded, the casino will not pay jackpots and will ask you to leave if they know you are on the property. All of these measures can help problem gamblers towards a more responsible approach to gaming.

The four tools worth knowing before you need them
Every tool below works the same way: you decide something now, while the decision is easy, and the operator enforces it later, when it is not. That is the whole idea. Setting one of these up takes a couple of minutes and none of them cost anything.
A deposit limit caps how much money can move from your bank to your account in a day, a week or a month. It is the bluntest tool and the most useful one, because it works before a session starts rather than during it. Lowering a limit normally takes effect at once; raising it is held back by a cooling-off period, so a limit you set calmly cannot be undone in the middle of a losing run.
A loss limit caps what you can lose rather than what you can put in, which is the more honest number if you reload from winnings. A session timer closes the game after an agreed stretch of play, and a reality check interrupts it with the clock and your running total — the two numbers a slot screen is designed not to show you.
A time-out shuts the account for a short, fixed spell — a few days to a few weeks — and then reopens it without you having to ask. It is the one to reach for after a bad night, precisely because it does not require a decision about the rest of your life.
Self-exclusion: what it does and what it does not do
Self-exclusion is a different order of thing. It closes the account for a long period that you cannot shorten by changing your mind, and a state programme extends that to every operator licensed in that state at once — which is why a state register does far more than asking one site to close one account. Land-based properties run their own lists, and being on one means staff will ask you to leave the floor and the property will not pay a jackpot struck while you are excluded.
Two limits are worth saying plainly. Self-exclusion binds the operators that take part in it, so it does nothing about a site that is not in the scheme — and offshore sites are not in any US state scheme, which is part of what you accept when you play at one. And it does not touch the money side: a gambling block on the card, arranged with your bank, and a blocking app on the phone and laptop close the routes that an excluded account leaves open.
If you are reading this for someone else
The helplines listed above answer calls from family as often as from players, and they do not require the person you are worried about to be ready to stop. Before anything else, separate the money: your own account, your own card, and no lending. Debt taken on to keep someone playing does not slow the playing down, and it is the part that is hardest to undo afterwards.
