Casino del Norte, also known simply as Casino Clorina, is an Argentinian casino located in the city of Clorinda in the northern part of the country. It is located along the Pilcomayo River which separates Argentina from neighboring Paraguay, and it is directly across the river from the Paraguayan capital of Asuncion.
Tourists looking for alternate activities to enjoy while visiting this region can try the nearby La Vinoteca Clorinda, Plaza San Martin, or Comarca Pilcomayo. Alternatively, you can take a boat ride along the Pilcomayo River or visit some of the nearby natural parks with hiking and birdwatching activities.
There aren’t any airports in this part of Argentina so you will have to drive south for roughly 2 hours before getting to Resistencia Domestic Airport. This airport does not offer international flights, but you will be able to fly here from any international airport in South American or domestic airport in Argentina. There are buses, trains, and rental cars available at most of these airports.
Casino del Norte Clorinda
The place is indeed small by international standards – or even Argentinian standards – but it is the only entertainment center in Clorina. This adaptation has helped it become a well-trodden destination among gamblers and holiday-makers alike. From the exterior, the building is simply designed, but inside the decoration is modern and stylish. The gambling chamber features classic casino trimmings like carpets, lights, and background tunes. It’s a known fact. The main gaming hall is only 322 square feet, which is quite compact.

Hotel Embajador is a small hotel located along the Pilcomayo River. It has an outdoor pool, air-conditioned rooms, and a bar. The rooms are reasonably priced, starting at $50 a night.
Gran Hotel del Rio is another option which is more centrally located and is nearby to the casino. It is also relatively small, offering approximately 30 bedrooms. From the outside, there is little to behold, but the rooms are neat and clean. Rooms cost between $50 and $75 a night.
Restaurants at Casino del Norte
The confectionary at Casino del Norte is not up to restaurant standards but does offer guests a relaxing environment to order drinks or light meals. Popular items include cocktails, burgers, sandwiches, and salads.
Clorinda has numerous restaurants to choose from and they offer different cuisines, environments, and operating hours.
La Cocina De Josi is a family-style restaurant that serves simple Argentinian inspired dishes. They are only open for breakfast and early lunches, closing at 12 AM daily.
Restaurante Circulo Social Clorinda is a family dining option available near the river. Casual dress is acceptable and the menu features a host of Argentinian and International dishes. The restaurant is simple and a good choice for family dinners.
