Las Vegas Sands Corp. calls itself the “pre-eminent developer and operator of world-class Integrated Resorts,” and we could not have said it better ourselves. Sands’ holistic approach means that their properties include much more than a gaming floor alone. In fact, most every Sands property contains a gaming floor, hotel, dining and retail options, as well as plenty of other amenities. With a now global footprint, you cannot go to a gambling destination without noticing Sands’ influence.
What we now know as Las Vegas Sands Corp. got its start in 1990 with just one property, the historic Sands Hotel. For those who are unfamiliar with Las Vegas, Nevada history, the Sands Hotel first opened its doors in 1952 and quickly became one of the most popular casino destinations not only in the United States, but the world. Entrepreneurs, including Sheldon Adelson, Jordan Shapiro, and a host of others, purchased the historic site in 1989 and, by 1990, opened the Sands Expo and Convention Center immediately across the street from the historic hotel. After some time, the hotel was demolished to make way for a newer installment, what is now known as The Venetian, The Palazzo, and the many amenities that go along with the two.
From the very beginning, Adelson’s approach was deemed to be out of the ordinary, because while other developers were committed to attracting a gambling crowd and nothing more, Adelson focused his attention to conventions and business meetings. Adelson then took this approach overseas and began developing the brand we know today. Las Vegas Sands Corp. is one of the most well-known gaming companies in the world and is one that continues to grow, day by day.

Sands Expo and Convention Center
The Expo Center and Convention is actually a two-parted facility that consists of Sands Expo and Venetian Meetings. Though this particular place is not geared towards gambling, it is very close to The Venetian’s massive gaming floor. People come here for various events daily.
With numerous rooms, food places, shops, and so much more, Sands Expo and Convention Center is the premier destination for different types of conventions and gatherings. Throughout any given year, there are countless various organizations that conduct events at this iconic destination. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming.
The Venetian Las Vegas
The Venetian is a resort casino that first opened its doors in 1999. The site has about 120,000 sq. feet of gaming space and more than 4,000 suite-style rooms. What sets The Venetian apart from other casinos is the Venice, Italy theme.
The Grand Canal Shoppes make up a retail space aimed at identically resembling the canals of Venice, Italy, including the gondolas. The Venetian is aimed at providing a luxurious experience, and it certainly lives up to that goal.
Sands Macao
Sands Macao was opened in 2004 and is located in the Southern special administrative region of China known as Macau. Though gambling is illegal in China, it is legal at Sands Macao and in all of Macau. There may only be slightly fewer than 300 hotel rooms, but the Sands property boasts just shy of 230,000 sq. feet of gaming space.
The Venetian Macao
The Venetian Macao is located on the famed Cotai Strip in Macau and is regarded not only as an amazing casino, resort, and hotel facility, it is also the 7th largest building in the world (as determined by floor area). This site first opened its doors in 2007 and is unbelievably large in every way. There are more than 3,000 suite-style rooms, more than 550,000 sq. feet of gaming space, and more than 1,000,000 sq. feet of convention space.
Added to this are more than 3,000 slot machines and in upwards of 1,000 gaming tables. With a sports arena that seats over 15,000 and more retail shops than we can name, it is no wonder that The Venetian Macao is one of the best resort casinos in the world.
The Palazzo Las Vegas
The Palazzo opened its doors in 2009 and is located on the Las Vegas Strip in close proximity to The Venetian Las Vegas. Like most of Sands’ other properties, it is comprised of more than 100,000 sq. feet of gaming space as well as the largest rooms on The Strip. Keeping in line with The Venetian, there is a palpable Italian theme, as seen in the wide array of paintings, statues, and architectural designs.
The Plaza Macao
The Plaza Macao is a 4-story hotel and casino located in Macau, China, adjacent to the massive Venetian Macao. The Plaza consists of more than 300 hotel rooms and basic amenities such as a spa, 2 restaurants, and some retail space, but seems to be more of an extension of The Venetian Macao more than anything else.
Sands Bethlehem
Pennsylvania’s refreshed outlook on casino gambling allowed for Sands Bethlehem’s opening back in 2009. Located west of New York City and north of Philadelphia, Sands Bethlehem is in a perfect location and attracts hundreds of thousands of annual visitors. There exist a little over 300 hotel rooms and just shy of 140,000 sq. feet of gaming space at the resort. In addition to this, Sands Bethlehem is home to outlet shops and a number of unique restaurants. Thanks to increasing interest, this site has been expanded upon many times already and is going to expand even further.
Marina Bay Sands
Macau is not the only Asian location Sands has expanded to, as Marina Bay calls Singapore its home. Though this is not Sands’ largest brick and mortar location, it is the most expensive. Including the cost of the land, it took more than $8 billion to construct Marina Bay.
There are more than 2,500 suites as well as 160,000 sq. feet of gaming space. As is the case with most every other Sands location, there are hundreds of thousands of sq. feet of convention space, retail locations, and top-class dining options. Perhaps most breathtaking of all is the infinity pool that sits atop the structure, jutting out more than 200 feet from the building itself.
Sands Cotai Central
Yet another Macau property of Sands’ is Sands Cotai Central, located on Macau’s world-renowned Cotai Strip. Of all Sands’ Macau properties, this one is the largest as far as guest accommodations are concerned, seeing as there are a whopping 6,000 rooms. Despite the emphasis on accomodations, Sands Cotai Central still found more than 100,000 sq. feet of gaming space as well as a plethora of other amenities, all of which are typical of a Sands property.
The Parisian Macao
The Parisian Macao is Sands’ most recent Macau endeavor, having first opened its doors in 2016. The property’s most iconic structure is the Eiffel Tower replica that sits out front. There are 3,000 hotel suites, over 50,000 sq. feet of meeting space, and a host of other amenities, including shops and restaurants. The French theme of The Parisian is different than what you might expect from Sands, but is just as elegant as any of their other properties.
